IT – Stephen King
IT was Indy Editions first publication that was delivered! It sold out privately and RIGHTS were given to the buyers. These were offered to the first book that went on sale (Gunslinger). Rights follow these for Non-DT books. This was handmade in the UK at Ludlow Bookbinders. Indy’s glass maker made eyes that were inset into the book. IT and all Non-DT books have new artists attached to re-imagine the artwork. Francois Vaillancourt was the artist for IT. A leather bound portfolio of prints is also included in this edition and sits under the book in the traycase. Signed by all contributors and the only one signed by me (I felt that even though I designed the books I made…
I didn’t feel my signature should be present and did not for any other editions moving forward). What sets the Non-DT’s apart is that inside under glass in the left side of the traycase, the cover of the original dust jacket is present. Paying homage to Robert Guisti who did the cover of the book long ago back in 1986! Each book has an original drawing in the book by Francois and every copy is different. The foil inserts for the turtle are among the best I have seen in the Fine Press world and the inlays for Pennywise’s hair just shows the truly remarkable work done by the team at Ludlow!
